Kids time! Legoland visit!

Well, enough of shopping! This time we went to Legoland to spare some bonding time with my niece and nephew.

I remembered when I was a child; I’ve got this lego magazine where they have featured their theme parks. And I was amaze and dreamt of going to Legoland. Well, it came true; but it just took a long time…

The place is amazing, one of my fav part was the mini city – it’s a replica of cities such as Las vegas, China, New York, etc

Here are some of the pictures I’ve taken:

Second day:

Next day we went to the Sea life aquarium and their water park. The water park is nice but it’s a bit small. What I really like is the lazy river wherein there’s this huge lego pieces and you can built your own design and place it in your tube. My niece and nephew really enjoyed.

The rest are just simple pool for kids, the place is small so by afternoon the place is already quite congested to the point that you have to line-up in the queue for the lazy river since the tube available is limited only. What I enjoyed most is there new ride called Pirate Reef!

New addition to my bag collection

One of the best parts in my sister’s location is that they’re near the Camarillo premium outlet shop. I love this place they have tons to offer. Since for a while now I’ve been thinking of getting another MK, Tory Burch or Coach bags, but can’t really decide which brand to go to. But then, I saw Kate spade, and I was immediately hooked it’s like a candy shop!! (sorry for the ignorance coz this shop doesn’t exist in Bah so I don’t have an idea what styles they have). I was like a child wanting to have everything :) I liked 2 bags, but then I just decided to get this green bag since its eye catching and the color is perfect for summer.

In my mind, I was debating with myself whether to get the other bag that I liked but end up of not getting it.

And when we reach home, I was really surprise! My nice sister surprise me and brought the other bag that I liked as a present (How did she sneak out on me??? well with the help of her husband). Sweet!!!!!

A weekend getaway in Solvang

We decided to visit Solvang, CA, a town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valle. Solvang is a town with a Danish ambiance. The Danish ambiance was immediately apparent as we drove over the town. Well I felt like I'm in a twilight zone.
When we started to walk, we really felt as though we were in Denmark, with all the Denmark style shops and bakeries, windmills, restaurants, building and many more! And if you love wine tasting, then this place is perfect for you! This place has tons of things to offer!

We really enjoyed our visit here!

Foodie day

It's my second day here! A perfect day! We had a bunch of good foodie today! First stop, In n out! I miss this!

Then we went to couple of shops.

Then I also had my fav Gold fish and I finally got my hands on Magnum. I was so intrigue with this ice cream, it’s like talk of the town on twitter in Philippines. But honestly I don’t find any fancy thing about it, we have a better ice cream than this, way much better! (BIG Time). We’ll I'm not sure if the Philippine version of Magnum is different than the US version. But I would expect it should be the same.

Anyways, then we had dinner at home. My brother in-law made a special meal for us.  Nice right? And it even taste so good!!!

That's how I spent my second day here, that was a lot of calories to burn! And my sister would always say "You're in vacation!" Oh yeah thanks I found an excuse! :)

Life is good! I hope you all had a great day today!

LA baby!

Finally after 17 hours and 30 minutes of traveling I’ve finally reached LA! A long travel, but I know its all worth it!

Clear skies, tall palm tress, oh yeah I’m really here in LA! Ofcourse the best part is- seeing again my family! My sister and her family pick me up at the airport, and my sweet niece and nephew made this nice&sweet welcome message.

The weather is perfect, (well honestly it’s kinda cold for me, since I’m used of extreme heat weather…)

I can’t want to start my shopping haul again, this time I’ll try to control myself. (Last year I went crazy!). This time I made a list of the things that I really require only, I’ll try to stick on that. (cross finger)

Recipe of the week: Meghli

Last Challenge before I travel

For the last time my hubby requested for a sweet called Meghli. Me being not familiar with this kind of dessert I need to use my resources to find out on how to make this. Thanks to my lovely friend Rou’a who shed some light over me.

Just to share the info, according to my friend Meghli is usually being serve on the birth of the child or in Christmas time. Meghli is an authentic and traditional Lebanese sweet dish made from rice and caraway, anise and cinnamon. Meghli, which means “boiled” in Arabic, was so-called because of the long time (up to an hour) it must be continuously stirred while boiling.

After doing this dessert I can say that the long stirring part is the fun part for me, coz it symbolizes that this dessert was really made out of love and patience.:)

Here’s the recipe hope you’ll enjoy it as much as my hubby enjoyed it.

Ingredients:
1 cup rice flour
1 cup white sugar
8 cups water
1 tablespoon ground caraway seeds
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon anis seeds

For the toppings: raw almonds, pistachios, and coconut flakes

1.In a mixing bowl, put 1 cup cold of water. Add the rice powder, mix until dissolve. Add sugar and spices.
2.In a cooking pot, put the remaining water (7 cups) to boil, and slowly add the spice/rice mixture.
3.Keep stirring. (This is the fun part ;) )
4.Stir until it thicken. It will cook for about 45 minutes to an hour. When the back of the spoon is already coated with the mixture its an indication that it already cook.
5. Transfer it into serving bowl and let it cook.
6. Meanwhile, add water to almonds and pictachios and let them sit until they soften. (about half an hour)
7. Before serving the pudding garnish it with coconut falkes and soften almonds and pistachios.

A new addition to my favorite perfume collection

When it comes to perfume I’m very picky, I've tried so many but have only few favorites:

(D&G my all time fav perfume; Mochino I Love Love- super Love this perfume, scent is somehow similar to D&G; Tommy Girl; Chloe; Juicy Couture Couture)

Recently I’ve received some sample perfumes (in tiny bottles) and out of those tiny perfumes one really caught my attention. Its in a tiny box with an imprint of gold, it’s from Versace the packaging is really elegant. And when I sprayed it, OMG the scent is so nice! And with a few drops/spray the smell really last till end of the day, at this point I know I need to get a bigger bottle. I'm totally in love with this perfume. I bought perfume and lotion. A new addition to my collection.

If you are into citrus/floral/fruity scent, then I suggest giving this a try. It’s really worth it!

Saturday, Saturday

Last day of weekend for me, ofcourse best way to end this weekend is by spending time with hubby but since he's working, so I need to wait till he finish. So while waiting, I went to mall and I got 2 new items:

1. Vitamin C Skin Boost – it claims that:
"Create instant smoothing radiance with a silky smooth finish. It's an ideal skin pick-me-up to enhance your glow and our favorite Vitamin C product. Contains Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature. Antioxidant vitamin C brightens skin, encourages collagen production, improves elasticity, and works along with skin-softening vitamin E to protect skin from environmental aggressors.Community Trade Brazil nut oil moisturizes and softens skin."

Its texture somehow resembles to a primer. In their direction it says that you have to put it after your moisturizer and before putting your make-up. I love the smell; I’m into citrus smell, so this really matches to my liking. And when you apply it really makes your skin so smooth and silky.  I wanted to give it a try since it’s working in 2 ways as a vitamin C and at the same time serves as a substitute for a primer. I'll give you an update later, I just need to observe on how my skin will react with this product.

2. Bath and Body works cucumber/melon sanitizer – just trying another scent and adding it to my collection.
